Don't let a malfunctioning sprayer keep you from your gardening chores - use our troubleshooting guide to fix common problems with the HD2000-S battery-powered sprayer.
Check your charger
To do this, try plugging the charger into the unit. If the unit is charging, the charger light will turn red. When doing so, make sure that you are plugging the charger into a working outlet.
Check your Battery
Plug the charger firmly into the battery charger port on the base of the unit, then plug into a 110v outlet. Your battery will last many years but may need to be replaced eventually.
Inspect the nozzle
If the spray is not coming out of the nozzle or the spray pattern is not as expected, inspect the nozzle for blockages or damage. Unscrew the nozzle and clean it thoroughly with water to remove any dirt or debris. If the nozzle is damaged, replace it with a new one.
The HD2000-S uses reliable technology designed for years of dependable service. Over time, you may notice your battery holding less charge or only powering shorter jobs. When this happens, replacement batteries are available on the PetraTools website.
Step 1
Turn the sprayer off and empty all liquid from the tank.
Step 2
Turn your sprayer over and remove the five screws from the bottom plate to get access to the battery compartment.
Step 3
Remove the wire connections from the battery by pulling them off the battery. A pair of pliers may be needed.
Step 4
Push the red wire connection on your replacement battery's Red (+) terminal. Next, push the black wire connection on the Black (-) terminal.
Step 5
Place the battery back in the bottom of the sprayer and reinstall the bottom plate. Tighten the five screws. Test the sprayer function.
Maintaining a clean HD2000-S Battery-Powered Sprayer will keep it in good working order. Here's how:
Step 1
Empty any remaining solution from the tank and rinse it thoroughly with clean water.
Step 2
Fill the tank with warm, soapy water.
Step 3
Turn on the pump and run the warm water through the pump, hose and nozzle.
Step 4
Drain the tank. Rinse with clean water to remove any residual soap.
Step 5
Let the sprayer air-dry, and store it in a cool, dry place.
If your sprayer pump is running but no liquid is coming out, you may need to try priming your sprayer again. This can happen after the pump sits dry for extended periods.
Step 1
Add 1 gallon of warm water and 1-2 Teaspoons of liquid dish soap to the tank
Step 2
Turn on the pump and squeeze the valve handle. Lock the handle in place and let the unit run for up to 10 minutes. Gently shaking the sprayer or tapping on the base can free trapped air bubbles.

Before you put your sprayer away for the season, you should do a few things to ensure it’s in good shape for next season.

Step 2
Fully charge the battery before storage.
Step 3
Store sprayer upright in a warm area; avoid long-term storage in temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
