Priming Methods

Method 1: Soap & Water

- Start by taking off the lid of your sprayer

- Fill the tank of the sprayer with a gallon of water and 1 to 2 teaspoons of liquid soap.

- Securely close the lid to prevent any spills or leaks during priming.

- Let the sprayer run for 5-10 minutes until it’s primed.

- Sometimes gently shaking or tapping on the base of the unit will dislodge air pockets left in the pump while the pump is running.

- After the sprayer is primed, press the handle several times to start spraying.

Method 2: Garden Hose

- Take the lid off your sprayer

- Feed a garden hose into the empty tank of your sprayer

- Turn on your sprayer

- While pressing the garden hose against the suction filter on the bottom of the tank turn on the water

- The goal is to force water into the pump and remove any trapped air

- Test the spray by squeezing the trigger on the wand. You should see a steady stream of water spraying from the nozzle

- Once primed, remove the garden hose

Method 3: Priming Bulb

*For customers with newer sprayers that included an orange priming bulb (like a turkey baster)

- Remove the hose from the side of the sprayer

- Locate the orange pressure bulb and fill it with clean water

- Firmly press the priming bulb into the hose connection on the side of the sprayer

- Squeeze the bulb firmly to inject water into the hose connection. The goal is to push water backwards through the system. This action helps force any trapped air out of the pump and can assist in loosening a seized diaphragm pump.

- Test the Sprayer: Once the bulb has been used to force water through, test the sprayer by attempting to pump and spray as usual.

- Repeat if necessary
